Education: I received my bachelor's degree in Equine Sciences and Agricultural Business from Colorado State University in 2008.
Background: After growing up riding Morgan Horses, I have a true understanding about different breeds and how to make each individual horse work in the show ring. As an adolescent, I showed mostly hunter circuits and highly-competitive shows. In 2003, I began riding Quarter Horses and Paints due to a horse injury that changed the direction of my career.
Philosophy: Each rider should be confident, goal-orientated, expect excellence, and above all - Have Fun! Each horse should be confident, comfortable and happy with the job they are to do.
Education: I am a junior at Colorado State University majoring in Equine Sciences with a concentration Pre-Veterinary practices and working toward a minor in Agricultural Business.
Background: I fell in love with horses at a very early age and started riding at age seven. My equestrian education has continued over the past thirteen years, most of which took place at Spring Down Equestrian Center in Portola Valley, Calif. I taught English lessons and managed SDEC summer horse camps for six years. Assisting with training rides and competing on SDEC’s horses were additional opportunities I received in California. I feel fortunate to have the opportunity in owning and training my horse for the past eight years. We have successfully competed in the Hunter/Jumper circuit in California and have progressed taking up Western, specifically Versatility Ranch Horse, in Colorado. In May 2010, I began a full-time internship with Shanna Wagner, owner and trainer of Equine Authority, at Fort Collins Equestrian Center. My knowledge of the equine profession has grown immensely since May. I feel extremely honored to be working with her and I hope to follow in her footsteps.
